Well I’ve been away for a week on a mostly none bird related
trip. Back in the action now though.
A quick walk around the loch this afternoon and things still
seem fairly quiet.
10 Goldcrest, 4 Chiff, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 female Blackcap
also huge numbers of hirundines (swallows and house martins) stopping off for a
drink on the loch.
All the usual stuff is still around on the loch; Little
Grebe, Tufted Duck, Mute Swan, Mallard, Coot and Moorhen.
Up on the tops there seems to be a steady stream of Wheatear
and Meadow Pipit moving though with 7 Wheatear around the Lighthouse/Kirk hill
area and loads of Mipits everywhere.
Today also marks a welcome return to the Pink-feet with 43 seen
out to sea heading south this morning. A single Swift also flew south tonight.
