Birds, Boulders and Brew!

Well I’ve been away for a week on a mostly none bird related trip. Back in the action now though.

A quick walk around the loch this afternoon and things still seem fairly quiet.

10 Goldcrest, 4 Chiff, 1 Willow Warbler, 1 female Blackcap also huge numbers of hirundines (swallows and house martins) stopping off for a drink on the loch.

All the usual stuff is still around on the loch; Little Grebe, Tufted Duck, Mute Swan, Mallard, Coot and Moorhen.

Up on the tops there seems to be a steady stream of Wheatear and Meadow Pipit moving though with 7 Wheatear around the Lighthouse/Kirk hill area and loads of Mipits everywhere.

Today also marks a welcome return to the Pink-feet with 43 seen out to sea heading south this morning. A single Swift also flew south tonight.

Camping
Bouldering time...

This sums up the weather on Skye pretty well

One of the Stoats living beside the lighthouse... cute eh!
Wrong.. this bad boy is a pure killing machine!
